After much research, planning, and packing, we left on our long anticipated trip to Alaska. We had made no reservations, so we were pretty much at our leisure to travel as far each day as we wanted to. The first day we got to Saskatoon, and "checked in" to the Walmart RV park. Every site is paved, level sites are available, and there is always lots of other RV company there. It's also a great opportunity to shop for the things we forgot, or in my case, replace a dead watch battery. We did encounter a major disappointment though, McDonald's ice-cream machine wasn't working!
We bought a copy of The Milepost, which gives mile by mile detail of what's coming up on pretty much every highway in Alaska.
