We left Homer, and driving along the Sterling Highway toward Soldotna, we saw the volcanic mountains again. We noticed steam coming from 2 of them. At Tern Lake Junction, we turned south again, onto the Seward Highway, which would take us to the city of Seward.
This was our lunch spot, right next to the highway and railroad tracks.
Seward is located on Resurrection Bay, and has a year-round ice-free harbor, making it an important cargo and fishing port.
Seward is the port of call for several cruise-lines.
We saw this Chinese ship loading coal. It was in the harbor for quite a few days.
