Driving to Fairbanks.  

Alyeska Pipeline 

Spectacular view of the 1,200 foot long section of pipeline suspended across the Tanana River between 2 towers.  This is the 2nd longest of the 13 major bridges along the pipeline's 800 mile length. 

Can you see the moose in there?  We saw lots of wildlife along the highway, but got very few good shots of them.

Eielson Air Force Base is the farthest north full-up fighter wing in the U.S. Air Force.  Eielson has more than 60,000 square miles of military training airspace, the largest aerial range in the country.  

This is North Pole, Alaska.  WOW!  It was all about Santa Claus in that town.

We arrived in Fairbanks by noon, and checked into the River's Edge RV Park.  In the afternoon, we  took the truck to Seekins Ford for an oil change and wandered around in Walmart while we were waiting for it to be ready. 

These last 2 pictures were taken at midnight.  In June and early July daylight lasts more than 21 hours, and the nights are really only twilight.
