We left home last Saturday morning, and had good travelling conditions for the most part, except for very strong winds on a couple of days. The highways were dry, and we had no snow or rain.

By the evening of the second day travelling, we were in unseasonably mild weather, with temps reaching 19 degrees, so we summerized the camper and spend the night in it at Emporia, KS.

This was the sign that greeted us as we entered Martin Dies Jr. State Park, near Jasper, Tx. Unfortunately, we haven't seen any alligators yet, hoping to!! We had a thunderstorm yesterday morning, but the day turned out to be sunny and 15C by afternoon.

Tomorrow we'll head for Newton, Tx, where the MDS camp is located, and get to know the people we'll be working with. Work starts on Monday.
