Weekend

On Saturday our whole group went on an outing to tour 2 plantation houses/yards, had a picnic lunch, and later on ended up in Nachtitoches, LA. There's a lot of little shops there, including an old merchantile, so we walked along and investigated all of them. After that we went out for supper, and got home around 9:00.
The Japanese magnolia trees are in full bloom and so beautiful. There are also alot of huge trees, live oaks they call them. Many of them have ferns growing on their branches, and they are called resurrection ferns, because when it's dry, they dry up, and when there's alot of moisture, they grow again. They are pictured at the top...mainly because I don't know how to rearrange the order of the pictures.

This morning we went to the Blooming Grove Baptist Church, a black church. Quite the exuberant congregation! George and I were asked to lead 2 congregational songs, so that felt like home.
