Yesterday morning we went to an alligator farm which is 1/2 mile from here. They go out in a helicopter and locate the nests, mark them with gps, then go in and steal the eggs from the nests, as many as 60-100 per nest. These are incubated, hatched, and put in barns. The barn we saw had 750 alligators in it. They're sold for the hides and for meat, and a percentage of them have to be returned into the wild, where their survival rate is not great.
Another day at the trailer today, the end is in sight. Got some painting done, a new ceiling in a bedroom, and a few other details done. There was a thundershower last night, and a few cities not too far from here reported tornadoes. It was 18 degrees and sunny today, just loving it!
