After going out for breakfast, we packed up and left Valdez.
Keystone Canyon, unfortunately it was raining hard.
It did clear up though, and we were able to enjoy the scenery along the way. We spent the night in Beaver Creek, then left very early (3:40 a.m.) for Haines. It was light out (of course) and we saw lots of wildlife out in the early morning. There was no traffic, and the construction crews weren't working yet, so the terrible highway we were expecting in this area, wasn't really so bad after all.
We arrived in Haines by noon and found a little RV park right on the water. Haines is located on Portage Cove, Chilkoot Inlet, on the upper arm of Lynn Canal. It's 15 miles from Skagway by water, but it is 359 miles by road.
