Swamp Tour

Yesterday we went on a swamp tour after work. We went up the Pascagoula River and then into some smaller bayou that went off of the river. It was so peaceful and quiet, with beautiful scenery and quite a few different birds to see.
The roots of the trees are just amazing, and the water was so quiet you could see the reflection in the water.
We saw some osprey and their nests, also great egrets, red-winged blackbirds, herons, red tailed hawks, and boat tailed grackles.
And finally we also saw a few baby alligators. It was kind of cloudy, so the big old 'gators weren't out sunning themselves.

Our tour guide and boat driver was very knowledgeable about the area and all the wildlife, having grown up in the area. It was a very enjoyable couple of hours.
