Our first day of work

We had some wonderful news first thing this morning. Jo phoned to tell us that they had a baby boy at 5:14 a.m. His name is Dezmond Jay, and he was 8 pounds 3 oz. and 20 1/2 inches long. What a great way to start the day!

We had our devotions at 7:30, and then drove to our jobsite. The house we're working on had been condemned, but the family that owns it, decided to fix it up. They have done all the work inside, and it looks pretty nice. MDS is supplying the workers to finish the outside, and the owner pays for all the building material.

The picture at the top, is the front of the house. The old siding was torn off today, and the men put house wrap on and also started building a porch.

This is where most of the work happened today. The men got most of the siding on by the end of the day.
This side needed some window trim painted, and by this afternoon, it was completely finished.
The back of the house is also pretty much finished now. We painted the doors and touched up some paint.
We got a load of lumber at noon, and the ladies kept busy painting all sorts of boards and spindles to be used for the porch, shutters, and other finishing work.

That house looks pretty sad from the front but the finished parts look good. My boys like the Saints logo on the front door.
