We had our dedication service at the house last night. Friends and family gathered along with our RV group, to dedicate Gerry and Rebecca's house to the Lord. Frank read from the Bible, and the couple was presented with a Bible of their own. Irene gave them a wall quilt made by one of the MDS workers that was here last month. We sang "To God Be the Glory" and there were a number of readings. You can well imagine how emotional an occasion it was for Gerry and Rebecca to have a new house built for them, after "making do" for so many years. Their daughter was very instrumental in getting the wheels in motion for this project. O.J. presented the house keys to Gerry and Rebecca, after fumbling around in his many pockets for the right keys. I later filled O.J.'s front pockets with leftover papers from the program.

Later we went outside and had cookies and coffee.

This morning a few of us ladies went out to the house again, to do a bit of clean-up again. The men are still out there, busy with the last of the plumbing and putting up some blinds.

We went to Jasper and some of the couples bought two recliners for Gerry and Rebecca. He was quite overwhelmed and very pleased. I had a few quilts along with us, that I presented to him this afternoon, and he seemed really happy for them too.

It's been a really great month here in Newton. We have been blessed in so many ways, living in this community and meeting the people, and in some small way, helping to make one couple's dream come true.
