Monday morning! Our day started with devotions at 7:30, and after that the men went out to the jobsite which is east of Newton. It's a new house, being built for a family that lost their home in the hurricane.
The work today included plumbing, siding, and preparation for drywall, or as they say in the USA...sheetrock. The homeowner did the insulation and is working on the wiring as well.
This man is a master builder, and is operating the mitre saw.
The ladies hung around camp this morning, enjoying their morning coffee and checking their emails. We then went and cleaned out a storage shed, loading the cabinets that were stored in there onto a pickup. After lunch we went out to where the men were working very hard...and proceeded to disassemble the concrete forms, loaded them onto a pickup, and after moving all the siding to a different location, delivered (and unloaded) our forms to the Baptist Encampment. While there, we went into the dining room where the regular MDS people eat, and met the cooks, who offered us coffee and baking the Amish workers had brought with them.
