Tucson

Yesterday we went to Tucson and visited the Titan Missile Museum.  We went on the tour they offered and found it very interesting.

"The museum gives visitors a rare look at the technology used by the U.S. to deter nuclear war.  What was once one of America's most top secret places is now a National Historic Landmark, fulfilling its new mission of bringing Cold War history to life for visitors."

The 103-foot Titan II ICBM.

Love seeing those signs...NOT!  Thankfully they sleep in winter.

We then went to the ASARCO copper mine for a tour.  We saw how copper ore is mined in the open-pit, and then at the center, we saw how it is processed in the mill to extract the copper minerals.

Most impressive is how huge the trucks are!

We had met friends from Montana in Tucson, and had a great time visiting and touring around with them!
