Pensacola, Florida

We stayed on Santa Rosa Island which is on the Gulf Islands National Seashore. The beaches have very beautiful, soft, white, squeaky (singing) sand. We spent lots of time walking along the beach and collecting seashells.
The highway taking us out to the Fort Pickens campground had sand and water on both sides.
We went to tour the National Naval Aviation Museum and enjoyed seeing many exhibits, both of old and newer airplanes, as well as many other displays. There was an Imax Theater there, so took in the "Hubble"show, as well as the "Magic of Flight" which featured the Blue Angels.
The camellias are in full bloom, and many other bushes are also blooming. We went to the Gulf Breeze Zoo one day, and I took lots of pictures there. Here are a few of them:

Some pictures of a hike we took at the campground. We did see a few birds, an armadillo, and a snake, which was of course, very gross, because they all are!

This is one of the bridges that we crossed on our way to the island. It is a 3 mile bridge, with a warning at the beginning....long bridge, check your gas gauge...that connected Pensacola with Gulf Breeze, and then there was another shorter toll bridge, connecting to the Santa Rosa Island.

When the winds and waves got really high, the jelly fish washed onto the beach and even onto the highway.
