We stopped at a rest area for coffee, and happened upon a botonist's dream...the rhododendron growing in the wild, were in blossom. They are quite rare, even in the lower mainland of B.C. , and are more common in California.
Once in the U.S.A. , we drove through upper Idaho and Montana, along the #2 highway. Many awesome views, even if we didn't go into Glacier National Park. The Going to the Sun road was still closed because of snow. This monument is at Marias Pass, the continental divide, and commemorates Theodore Roosevelt among others.
And this is the campground in the Bear Paw Mountains, in Beaver Creek park. These mountains are about 140 miles west of the Rockies, and the highest peak is about 6900 feet.
