We had a great time with James and Vanessa when they came out for the weekend. Evenings around the fire, eating smores, playing cards, and visiting...we enjoyed it all.
At Cultus Lake George and I went on a hike to "Teapot Hill". The view from up there was great, and I'm always so impressed with the moss and ferns growing so thickly on the trees. The hike took us 45 minutes to walk up, and another 45 to come down...but George and James did it on Saturday, without stopping (or seeing anything), and it took much less time.
On Sunday afternoon we went for a long drive with James and Vanessa. We went to a winery and tasted, and bought some wine. Then we drove further on, and suddenly came upon a troop of military personnel in full combat gear, engaged in combat (Which country are we in?). It was a training exercise, and there were shots fired...albeit blanks, and they just waved us on.
