Last Saturday we took a drive out to Slaughter Ranch.  It's east of Douglas, and is 14 miles of not very nice gravel road.  The road follows close to the Mexican border, and you can see the wall off to the right most of the time.

A National Historic Landmark, the Slaughter Ranch Museum was once the San Bernardino Ranch, belonging to John H. Slaughter, Cochise County Sheriff from 1887 to 1890. 

Back to work on Monday....

Finishing touches on the renovation trailer.  The carpet, baseboards, doors, doorknobs, trim, blinds

etc, were put in and it is pretty much done.

On Thursday a few ladies stocked the kitchen with dishes and all other supplies that would be needed, and furniture was brought in.

There is a sprinkler system being put in at the daycare, so the yard is all dug up right now.

On Thursday we got company from Manitoba!  Steve, Jo, Dez, August, and Lukas came for a few days.  On Friday we drove to Bisbee and then to Tombstone.  While in Tombstone, we went to see the shoot out at the OK Corral.  It was a fun show!

On Saturday we went to the Chiricahua National Monument.  The weather was cold and we had a bit of rain on the way.  We were able to drive to the top, but we couldn't see much because of the low clouds.  

Seeing as we've been there many times before, I was able to find a picture of the rock formations, so we all know what we missed on this trip.

We had lots of fun in the evenings, playing Jeopardy and Uno and eating way too many snacks.  

On Sunday morning, Steve, Dez, and August went for an airplane ride with Larry Dye.  A great way to end their few days here!
