February 3
We're back at Ethnos 360 Aviation again. We've had a week of wonderful weather. It was sunny and 27C every day. It's back to work for the next couple of months!
One of the old trailers is getting a major renovation. George spent part of his first day sanding drywall mud. The next few days were spent starting the demolition of another old trailer.
We went to Whitewater Draw to see the sandhill cranes and snow geese. It's a nice place to go for a walk.
This is the new daycare that the guys were working on last year. It has 2 separate areas: one area is for the kids in childcare, the other part is for the moms that are having classes while they are trainees.
It's been a full week of working and social events. The Friday we got here, there was a chili cookoff being held in the Fellowship Hall. There were 10 entries, judging, and then devouring the pots of chili. On Wednesday was the monthly "Cafe", where everyone gathers for morning coffee break and a meeting of information and updates of what's happening at the base here, and with the missionaries that are out on the field. Tonight we had a surprise 70th birthday party for one of the ladies. It's been a great week!
There was a major downside to the week though, George had the flu Thursday evening and Friday, but thankfully is feeling good again today!
