A new week!

There are 2 new houses on the base.  One is getting a carport, the other is getting a carport/storage shed built beside it.

It hasn't been very warm here, and on Wednesday we woke up to a skiff of snow on the ground.  It was gone by noon.

It was Spiritual Emphasis week last week.  We had a pastor from Colorado speaking to us every morning, then snack time...and OH MY do these people do good snacks!!   We heard a field report from a different program manager every day.  Reports from Brazil, Philippines, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, and Moody Bible Institute's flight program, called Moody Aviation.

On Wednesday we were asked if we wanted to go for a helicopter ride.  The trainee had only flown with 2 people in the helicopter before, and this time he was taking a full load of 5.  It was a great ride, touching down quite a number of times as we flew around the base.  To my relief, the instructor came with us, and we could hear him doing a lot of teaching during the flight.

This blue R66 is the helicopter that they mainly use for training.

The sheeting has been put onto the carport.

This is a small 2 gallon water heater, installed in the maintenance building's paint room.

On Saturday we took a drive out to Whitewater Draw to see the sandhill cranes and snow geese.
